In the Bahamas, on Nassau’s Cabbage Beach, we planned my wedding dress which you later made, stitching endurance and strength into every seam: yards of billowing chiffon catching the breeze like sea foam flipping ripples into the future, yet gathered into reality and melded by your pragmatic, extraordinary mind.
I now stand in that future with Graham, my husband, on the edge of winter, as night lengthens its stride, ready for another future, another adventure; taking you with us, not leaving you behind.
